Hi!
I'm a spanish musician and audio technician with a little home studio at my house
I'm surprised and glad with the fatman fat funker price on
http://www.musicstore.de (and thomman and musik-produktiv too), overmore knowing that TL audio 5051 price is much higher and fat funker is based on 5051, I'm about to get decided for buying a fat funker (in Spain both units have a difference in price of less than 50 euros, in musicstore the difference is bigger than 290 euros) (i'm even planning buying a pair)
I have read that fat funker is been designed more for recording guitars, but I want to know if there's a big difference between both 5051 and fat funker units comparing them as mic valve preamp, which is the labor I'm more interested to use the fat funker for.
Thanks and congratulations for both web pages and your work.
Su inmediata respuesta:
Dear Juan,
Thank you for your email.
The preamp stage of the fat Funker is the same as the 5051, so you will be able to create the same sound using the Fat Funker for a mic input as with the 5051.
That does sound like a very good price being advertised, I might buy one myself!
Let me know if you have any further questions and I hope you enjoy your purchase.
Kind Regards
Sarah Yule
