Modula es un invento de Quantica Audio, empresa americana participada por AA y estudios DMI. Está en fase de desarrollo y no se conocen todos los detalles. Hasta ahora esto es lo que se sabe:
Virtualization of a real large console workflow!!!
What is MODULA?
- Modula is a very complex system, based on the virtualization of a Real Large Console Workflow, fully modular full power digital console based on Acquas that will have native touch screen support.
- Modula is basically a software app run separately from your DAW, which gives you the ability to view the Acustica plugins in console style view, kinda like what softube console 1 or VEP 6 does for example: When you load a modula (WaterM4) plug-in inside the DAW, Modula standalone app will pick this up inside it and load the Water channel strip.
- You will have the ability to use local or external computers (slave/server) to take the full cpu pressure off the computer running the DAW.
How it works?

1) Load Modula standalone software.
2) In your DAW, load Modula plug-in (example WaterM4).
3) Modula standalone software will pickup WaterM4 from your DAW and load the Water channelstrip.
- Plus, you can load various Acqua plugins or N4 libraries you owned and create a hybrid console @

Release, prerequisite, price and distribution?
- Modula system will be released at the end of the year/beginning of 2019.
- Prerequisites for running it (apart things distributed by Quantica Audio) are:
N4 (commercial) AND Acqua plugins.
- Price -> N/A (There will be discount for Nebula users)
- The beauty of the system: being a network extension of N4, every development on Modula4 side will be traslated to a development on Nebula4 side, Acqua plugins or 3rd party libraries created for Nebula4. It is an huge system based on the same executable code.
- It will be distributed and sale by a 3rd party developer "Quantica Audio Inc", detatched from Acustica Audio company. About Quantica Audio, they are located in Las Vegas, Nevada USA. Acustica Audio is a shareholder (Acustica Audio is an italian SRL company) & Studio DMI/EUMM is the other shareholder.
- Modula will NOT be on sale on Acustica website BUT you can make it work with Acustica Audio Aquarius for updates (Aquarius is going to be a sort of central system, linking multi-companies)

Q&A?
Q: What is Console workflow?
A: Anyone of us who has worked with a real console (SSL, Studer, D&R etc) we will understand how Modula works. With Modula, we have everything in front of you (Pre, EQ and DYN) in vertical strip.

Q: Is Modula designed to compliment Reaper or will every DAW integrate equally?
A: All DAW’s.
Computers
Q: Does Modula give more power with the same computer?
A: Nope. Modula itself cannot reduce the usage of resources while it will use some small CPU imprint itself.
Q: How many channels can i load?
A: Dependant on your computer specs. Latest computers with i9 CPU, 64GB Ram can load around 100+ or more.
Q: Any i9 specific reference you would recommend?
A: 10 cores. Several friends reported 14 cores is perfect. We are using intel, around 4 GHz.
Q: AMD Threadripper 1950X with Modula?
A: Yes.
Q: Does Modula also do routing? As in, send a channel to some parallel busses, reverb sends, etc or should that all be done in the DAW?
A: Not the local mode, yes the server mode. (More details soon)
Touchscreen
Q: Will there be a list of widescreen touch screens that will be ideal for Modula?
A: Yes. At the beginning we support 27'', the very basic resolution 1080.
Q: Work with touchscreen only?
A: Modula works great on touchscreen and if you don’t own a touchscreen, you can use it with any mouse or trackpad. *More touchscreen the better
Q: Will it work as multitouch?
A:

Q: Hardware controller to control the faders and knobs? Will there be a list of suggested combinations of both screens and fader controllers that would ideally work well together for both physical contact and on screen contact together?
A: No hardware controllers, they don't work with modula as concept. Anyway possibly we'll have one, one of these years. We are looking into physical controller for the future (no official eta) and it comes with an optional Dante server to help with the computational demand. The addition of other HW modules is not excluded as a possibility for 2019 and beyond.
Q: Will we be able to change the current view from just EQ and compression with no faders to the current all included channel strip view?
A: Depending on the screen size, we'll start supporting other screen sizes and resolutions. There is a plan for 2k and 4k. At 4k a single view is possible. You'll have to wait, though
