Listening and reading assignments will focus on the construction and analysis of selected songs with the goal of mapping how the Beatle’s musical style changed from skiffle and rock to studio-based experimentation and the concept album. Cultural influences that helped to shape not only the music, but also the image of the Beatles’ and its individual members, as well as the group’s influence on both popular music and culture worldwide, will be a continuous theme.
