"Note that if the mixer is connected to a network where no DHCP server is present, the mixer will generate an automatic IP address (range 196.254.1.0 - 169.254.254.255)."
So when I set my computer IP to static 196.254.1.1 it found the mixer. After that, I was able to go to the mixer settings and change the mixer's IP address.
Your mac has an auto-generated IP (169.254.224.149). This probably happened because your accesspoint or router is not a DHCP server. DHCP assigns IP addresses in the correct subnet to all devices requesting one.
If you only have an accesspoint that is not capable of handing out addresses using DHCP, then set an IP address on your mac manually.
If your acesspoint/router is capable of providing DHCP addresses, then you need to enable that.
