Web Oficial: http://www.formula-sound.com/
Formula Sound has been building on experience since the 70's. The company began aiming to provide pro-studio and broadcast quality audio equipment into the mainstream leisure industry. Founder Tony Cockell, himself a budding musician and recording engineer, began by building one-off solutions for a range of clients in the business which in turn led to the infamous modular PM80 mixer being available as an off-the-shelf product in 1978.
Formula Sound produce a wide range of mixer and audio processing circuitry that maintain traditional pro-audio build quality and values. Many of the products are not available from any other manufacturer and their unique range of volume & noise level controllers are considered as real problem solvers.
Our products are still individually assembled & tested as opposed to "batch testing" as is sadly more common nowadays. Equally, high quality connectors and faders along with traditional through-hole circuit board designs make these products sound great and stay extremely reliable and easily serviceable.
Vamos a clasificar todos los modelos que se comercializan hoy en día, teniendo en cuenta que hay modelos que ya no se fabrican, pues lo podéis ir completando vosotros también...

Formula Sound are recognised as one of the leading manufacturers of audio equipment and the FSM-400 is built to their usual high standards of construction and audio quality. Although the FSM-400 is a fixed format design the use of individual circuit cards per channel improve reliability and aid servicing should the need arise.
The FSM-400 is primarily aimed at the professional DJ but will also be used in smaller installations where a four channel mixer with each channel switchable to two inputs can be utilised.
Channel 1 is switchable between low impedance microphone and stereo line inputs. Phantom power is available for microphones (internal selection).
Channels 2 to 4 are switchable between A and B inputs. The A input may be internally configured to be either an RIAA equalised input for a magnetic phono cartridge or a normal line input to accept CD, tape etc. The B input is always a normal line input.
Three band equalisation is fitted to all inputs. The range is +5dB to -20dB. The amount of large cut eliminates the need for frequency cut switches and is available on all channels allowing creative mixing.
Channels 2 to 4 have internal jumpers to provide 2 gain settings per input. The gain range is - normal ±15dB or low setting +2dB to -19dB.
Push button switches are used for input selection, PFL (pre fade listen) routing etc. and a smooth 60mm fader, which is arranged to eliminate the ingress of dirt, complete the channel controls.
The output section provides plenty of facilities to cope with most applications. It includes a new design of crossfade circuitry that places less demand on the fader to ensure exemplary attenuation and extended life. A punch button facility is also included.
Illuminated push buttons, led meters and indicators are fitted throughout to provide the operator with good visual indication of the mixer status.
Unlike the majority of fixed format mixers on the market all connectors are fitted to the back face which allows unrestricted access when the mixer is fitted through a work top or console.
Formula Sound FSM-600:
A 6 channel fixed format mixer
[ Imagen no disponible ]
The FSM-600 is a compact fixed format stereo production mixer. The design allows the unit to accept two microphone inputs and ten stereo music inputs.
The FSM-600 is essentially a six channel mixer with each channel switchable to two inputs. Channels 1 and 2 are switchable between low impedance microphone and stereo line inputs. Channels 3 to 6 are switchable between A and B stereo line inputs. The A input may be internally selected to RIAA or normal line. These channels are fully assignable to the cross fader. Three band equalisation is fitted to all inputs along with gain and auxiliary send controls. Illuminated push buttons and a 60 mm fader complete the channel controls. Internal settings provide for the unit to be set to individual needs. The output section provides plenty of facilities to cope with the most demanding applications.
Unlike the majority of fixed format mixers on the market all connectors are fitted to the back face which allows unrestricted access when the mixer is fitted through a work top or in a rack.
Although the FSM-600 is a fixed format design the use of individual circuit cards per channel improve reliability and aid servicing should the need arise. Construction and audio quality are to Formula Sounds usual highest standards.
Power
The mixer features a fully regulated internal power supply that is designed to operate on 220-240Vac or 110-120Vac. The selection is by an internal switch mounted on the power supply circuit board and is accessed by removing the front cover.
Input Channels 1 and 2
Input selector switch selects input used. M = microphone (XLR connector). L = stereo line (phono connectors). 2 parallel pairs of phono sockets allow easy parallel of source to a second input if required.
LEDs and label area clearly show which input is in use.
Gain control sets input gain level. Check by selecting PFL and adjusting so that V.U. meter just peaks into red.
3 band equalisation provides ±10dB control, internal jumpers allow selection of ±5dB or no E.Q.
Auxiliary send allows a separate mix of channels to auxiliary output (stereo bus). Internal jumpers allow the auxiliary pot to function pre or post channel fader.
Mute push button cuts the channel signal when depressed (switch illuminated). It does not cut the auxiliary send.
Limit push button routes the microphone signal via a built in compressor/limiter to keep dynamics under control. An internal jumper disables the switch forcing the mic to always be routed to the limiter. This switch has no effect on the line input.
PFL (pre-fade listen) routes the channel signal to the monitoring system (V.U. meter and phones). If more than 1 PFL is selected the sum is routed to the monitoring system. If no PFL is selected the monitoring system reads main output.
60mm channel fader.
Input Channels 3 and 6
Input selector switch selects input used. A = input A B = input B. Input B is always a stereo line input (internal jumpers selects input A to be either RIAA magnetic cartridge or a standard line input. (phono connectors)).
LEDs and label area clearly show which input is in use.
Gain control sets the input gain level. Check by selecting PFL and adjusting so that V.U. meter just peaks into the red.
3 band equalisation provides ±10dB control, internal jumpers allow selection of ±5dB or no E.Q.
Auxiliary send allows a separate mix of channels summed to the auxiliary output (stereo bus). Internal jumpers allow the auxiliary pot to function pre or post channel fader.
XF A and XF B (Illuminated push buttons) assign the channel to the cross fader if neither button is pressed the channel is fed via the stereo buss to the output and the cross fader will have no effect on this channel if both buttons are pressed the channel will be assigned to A only
PFL (pre-fade listen) routes the channel signal to the monitoring system (V.U. meter and phones). If more than 1 PFL is selected the sum is routed to the monitoring system. If no PFL is selected the monitoring system reads main output.

Description:
To celebrate 25 years since we manufactured the first PM-80 and in response to requests to remanufacture it, Formula Sound has introduced a limited edition PM-80R production mixer.
The PM-80R incorporates all the loved features of the original PM-80 with the benefits which modern components and manufacturing techniques can add to the original design. The PM-80R modules are therefore not interchangeable with the original PM-80 modules.
The PM-80 was manufactured for over 13 years and in that time many mixers were modified and features added for specific applications. We have captured the simplicity of the PM-80 making the PM-80R as easy to use as the original, whilst also introducing some of these features.
Like the original mixer 4, 8, (19" rack mount) and 12 channel input chassis are available. Special sizes could also be catered for.
Features:
Internal gold plated jumper links are used to configure the input module
4-12 input Channels
The Input module has been designed to be universal and is internally configurable to accept all types of input source
Mic/Line/Phone all inputs
The 3 band equaliser section has been designed to perform like the original PM-80 but we have also provided for the possibility of special E.Q versions to be supplied (more cut than boost etc.) The equaliser section may also be disabled if required
The mixer also has Zone, Booth, and Auxiliary outputs available in mono or stereo. Record, Sub Bass, and Mono outputs are also provided.
The PM-80R is an updated version of the PM-80 from the 80's,
with the ability to configure each input as required
(including balanced stereo) and a very pure audio quality
(typically <0.005% distortion).
Y este es el último modelo de la serie modular:

[ Imagen no disponible ]
[ Imagen no disponible ]
The PM-100 is a creative tool designed to give complete flexibility for both the operator and the installer. The facilities it offers are extensive whilst still being easy to use.
For use in discotheques, clubs, broadcast and production studios, audiovisual presentations and any other situation where a combination of sources need to be controlled. The mixer is designed to give exemplary technical performance and is built to the highest standards of mechanical engineering.
Innovative Features
The input module has been cleverly designed to accept input sources of virtually any type.
A rapid action switch on the front panel selects between 2 sources.
Input module can be supplied with either linear or rotary faders.
2 independent headphone monitoring sections.
VCA controlled crossfader and contour control.
Stereo inserts provided at either end of the crossfader to allow the connection of external filters, processors, etc.
Priority input to help comply with fire regulations.
The master module can be placed in any position in the mixer - right, left, centre, etc to suit the individual operator.
Three different chassis sizes house a master module and up to 4, 8 (19" rack mounting) or 12 input or blank modules.
Integral switch illumination shows operators at a glance the status of various functions. Faders are easy to replace due to the use of plugs and sockets. The connections to the modules are via a flexible ribbon cable featuring gold plated connectors. The further use of gold plated connectors throughout the mixer ensures maximum reliability. Alps pots and faders are used throughout the mixer.
Power Supply
The mixer requires an external power supply unit providing ±17.5V for the audio electronics and 12V for the working illumination socket. A suitable power supply unit, the PSU5 is available. This unit is designed to be surface mounted remotely from the mixer and features slow rise time characteristics to minimise turn-on thrumps. The unit can be switched internally to operate from 220-240V ac or 110-120V ac.
The Formula Sound PM-100 mixer is essentially the successor to our award winning PM-80 and PM-90 mixers.
The PM-100 is a compact modular production mixing system which combines exemplary technical performance with the highest standards of mechanical engineering.
The system is totally modular each module being complete in itself. The connections to the modules are via a flexible 34 way ribbon cable and gold plated computer grade connectors.
The chassis contains no electronics therefore upgrading to a larger chassis size is quite straight- forward.

The PM-80R is an updated version of the PM-80 from the 80's,
with the ability to configure each input as required
(including balanced stereo) and a very pure audio quality
(typically <0.005% distortion).
