For the "faders down 6 master up 6 Test"
1. Place all three files from the "test files" folder in your project
2. Set project for 44khz
3. Turn all three channel faders down to -6dB
4. Set master to +6dB
5. Turn dither off if possible
6. Render to 24 bit 44khz wave file
Note that SAW's math is causing a slight error. SAW's straight test does not null with its -6/+6 test. The straight test is correct and agrees with the other DAW's while the -6/+6 test is 0.00451 dB too quiet
Logic 8 is also showing a similar error as SAW. Moving the faders to -6dB and turning the master up by 6dB results in a file that is 0.06dB too loud. Once the gains are corrected, it nulls to -inf like the other unbroken DAW's
Note Cubase/ Nuendo are also showing errors. This is the most interesting. Unlike the other problem files, where the app is simply applying an incorrect amount of gain, Cubase/ Nuendo even when set to the same volume do not null with either the other apps or even with itself! Setting all faders at unity results in a different file than turning the channel faders to -6dB and turning the master up 6dB...VERY strange. Still this is at 99dB difference, nothing to write home about.
