Hello everyone.
If you want Prophet 08/Curtis 4 poles filters(close emulation) on your
ion/micron, simply chain two ob2 lp together.
Here's how to do it: choose ob2 lp for filter 1 and 2, go to the premix section
and set all oscillators to go to 100% filter 1, go to the last page and set
f1->f2 to 100%, now press the offset button of filter 2, open volume of filter 2
to desired level in post filter mix and close volume of filter 1 completely,
adjust resonance of both filters to desired level (watch out for high output at
100% level when crossing harmonics on a sweep).
Play with cutoff knob of filter 1 (filter 2 cutoff will follow #1 ) and there you
have it, a very close emulation of a Curtis-like 24db low-pass filter (without
self-oscillation though).
On an a/b direct comparison with a Prophet 08, it had a very similar character.
Remember that if you want to have an envelope sweeping the cutoff, you need only
to set env amt on filter #1 .
With the ability to chain the two filters together, you can create even more new
filter types! Even bizarre ones! Like a 16 pole (96db slope)! By linking two
8pole lp. Or combining a JP 4pole with an MG 4pole. Well, you get the idea...
Have fun!
