http://www.audiorecording.me/focusrite-saffire-pro-40-in-ubuntu-11-10-installation-guide.html

Y nada, cuando escribo lo siguiente aparece:

ffado-dbus-server

01521840424: Warning (ieee1394service.cpp)[ 375] initialize: Could not set SPLIT_TIMEOUT to min requested (1000000)
01521840495: Warning (ieee1394service.cpp)[ 379] initialize: Set SPLIT_TIMEOUT to min requested (1000000) did not succeed

¡Saludos!

sudo modprobe ohci1394 && sudo modprobe raw1394

desintala ffado y jack completamente
y luego haz esto
sudo apt-get build-dep libffado
sudo apt-get install build-essential libavc1394-dev python-qt4-dev subversion libtool

acto seguido:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kxstudio-team/kxstudio
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kxstudio-repos
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
reinicia y despues vuelve a instalar ffado y jack normalmente
